Pastor's Welcome
Dear Friends,
My name is Fr. Peter Mactutis. It is with great joy
that I present myself to you and the entire St. Frances Cabrini School
Community as your new priest administrator/ pastor for the parish and
school. I come here having finished a two year assignment as parochial
vicar at the six-parish cluster in and around Chehalis, WA, which also
had a Catholic school.
One of the great joys of being a priest in a parish
with a school is the enthusiasm and energy that the kids bring to the
life of the parish. Having grown up attending Catholic schools myself, I
am convinced of how powerful it is in the lives of kids to be able to
share, and live, and grow in one’s own faith, not just at home but also
while at school while with peers.
I must say that my new assignment here at St.
Frances Cabrini is my first time as pastor of a community, which means I
come with great excitement for the opportunity to be the pastoral leader
of a community with a school, but also that I am in need of experience.
In my first few weeks here I have been getting to know and working with
Stephanie Van Leuven, the school staff and parents. It has been
wonderful. I have been very impressed by their depth of love for the
school and commitment to its mission. I hope, especially in this first
year of mine, to learn a lot from everyone involved at the school. I
also hope that my presence will help the school to continue to excel in
its mission of making Jesus present and real in the lives of our
children and their families.
Speaking of “excelling”, the school and parish are
continuing to prepare a Master Plan for the building and renovating of
the facilities. I hope to help make this a reality. Let us pray for
guidance from our Lord, this coming year, that all of us together can
make St. Frances Cabrini School a powerful learning environment for the
children.
Thank you all for your love and support of our
school and parish.
May God bless you all,
Fr. Peter Mactutis
