"If every child entrusted to us in our schools, besides being instructed in mind, is also educated in the heart by instilling in it moral and religious principles, the child will mature to become a good Christian and a worthy citizen."

-St. Frances Xavier Cabrini

Children Are The Future

You Can Have A Positive Impact On Children's Beliefs and Values

Support the 21st Century Fund

An Endowment for Cabrini Students

You can be a part of a community of believers committed to the next generation.  By doing so, you help ensure better opportunities for hundreds of young people for years to come.

The 21st Century Fund is a perpetual trust established in 1978.  Formed as a Washington non-profit corporation, the Fund provides a long term financial base to ensure and enhance Catholic elementary education at St. Frances Cabrini School.

Contributions to the Endowment Fund are treated differently from other contributions to Cabrini School.  These gifts are not spent on immediate needs.  Rather, funds are placed in an investment trust.  It is the earnings of the Fund's investments that do the good works --

  • Help make Catholic education at Cabrini School affordable to families needing financial aid
  • Contribute funding to improve academic programs and technology
  • Provide funds for facilities upgrades to insure a safe and secure learning environment

The 21st Century Endowment Fund welcomes your gift, be it in the form of cash, stock, life insurance, annuities, real estate, mutual funds and personal property.  In that the Fund is a qualified 503(c), all contributions to it are tax deductible at market value (we suggest you consult your tax advisor for guidance).

  •  Create a living memorial for a loved one.  The Fund's Named Endowments enable family and friends to create, and build over time, perpetual remembrance -- one that in turn gives life to others.  Note: please contact our Development Office (253-584-5748) regarding minimum funding requirements for this program.
  •  Honor a special occasion: birthday, graduation, anniversary or retirement.  Gifts of any amount to the Fund are a great way to both acknowledge today's event and tomorrow's future.
  •  Appreciation for Blessings.  The Endowment Fund is an excellent way to "give back."

Named Endowments

Our Named Endowment program currently honors nine individuals who recognized the value of a Cabrini education and are/were committed to making it available to more students.  An additional two funds have been organized with the goal named endowments.

Fr. Andrew J. Squier Memorial

Founding pastor of SFC.  Responsible for building Cabrini School and parish and served as pastor for 25 years.  His family established this memorial fund as an enduring testimony to Fr. Squier's strong belief in the value of Catholic education.

Rev. James P. Coyne Scholarship

Fr. Jim was pastor of SFC from 1988 - 2002.  He led the effort to build Cabrini's new church and was a major contributor to renovation and expansion of school facilities during his years with the parish.

Kay Woerner Scholarship Fund

After her death, the five children of Mrs. Woerner established a fund in her name to memorialize her love and commitment to Cabrini students.

Eileen Fulton Scholarship Fund

Eileen was a volunteer and p/t employee at Cabrini School.  Before her death she arranged that a scholarship fund be established in her name.

Schindele Family Endowment for Special Children

Reflecting two generations of commitment to Cabrini School, the family established this fund.

M. Scott Kapala Endowment

This graduate from our class of 1969 passed away in 1995.  His will included a bequest to his elementary alma mater.

Waller / Habersetzer Family Fund

Their strong commitment to Catholic education prompted Pat and Tom Habersetzer to initiate a family fund to support Cabrini School.  Pat taught at Cabrini for 26 years.

The Margaret and Jose Veliz, Jr. Scholarship Fund

When Cabrini Parishioner Margaret Veliz passed away August 15, 2002, her husband Jose and their six sons set up a Named Endowment for Margaret. As a child, Margaret received a Catholic Education through tuition assistance. It was Margaret's fervent wish to reciprocate that kindness to others so they too could receive a Catholic education. The fund was established April 2003.

Hazel Hanel Fund

Mrs. Hanel, now retired, is an outstanding educator and school volunteer who has made a noteworthy impact on the lives of her students, their families and our community. Since June 2003, a fund has been established in her honor to continue her impact on our parish school community.

Holy Names Sisters Endowment

The retirement of Sister Therese Martin in June 2004 ends the 50-year presence of the Holy Names Sisters in our school. This fund has been established to keep their indomitable spirit and charism alive at St Frances Cabrini School into the next 50 years.

Gallo Family Fund

Long time St. Frances Cabrini Parishioners, John and Florence Gallo established this unrestricted Named Endowment in November of 2006 to help insure quality education to continue at St Frances Cabrini School.  The principle from their donation, combined with other Endowment funds, will annually provide classroom teaching and learning materials for many students.  Endowment funds for this purpose help control the cost of tuition to all students.
