Extended Care

Student Care for Working Families

Basic Policy

What is an Extended Care Program?  The Program at Cabrini school offers before and after school care for regularly enrolled children.  Pre-Kindergarten through eighth grade.  It is staffed by school personnel, serves ONLY the children enrolled at the school and legally can operate only on days when school is in session.  Do not confuse our program with a full "child care" program.

Our program DOES include minimum days, but does NOT include snow days.  If your child does not have a class session, Extended Care is not available for them.

Philosophy

The Extended Care Program strives to construct an enjoyable atmosphere with varying activities, including vigorous play, art activities, homework time and indoor games.  The children are served a nutritious snack and juice each day.

The Extended Care Program follows the philosophy, rules and regulations stated in the St. Frances Cabrini School Parent-Teacher-Student Handbook updated each September.

Overview

The Extended Care Program is open from 6:30am to 6:00pm on each day school is open.  On 1/2 days, the program will be open before school and then again at the time school is dismissed.  If the school is closed for any reason (such as snow days), Extended Care will not be available.  This also includes if school is suddenly closed in the middle of the day.

The Extended Care Program provides professional care, supervision and recreation activities.  It serves working families who desire both Catholic school education and supplementary Extended Care in a Christian environment for children enrolled at St. Frances Cabrini School, in pre-kindergarten through eighth grade.

This professionally operated program allows children to experience activities planned to complement the philosophy and value systems of the school and family.  A variety of activities, a nutritious snack and homework study periods are all part of what you and your child can expect in our program.

Within a family environment, the program strives to provide individual attention, security, consistency and fair treatment for all children.

The Extended Care Program is staffed by an experienced, credentialed Director and assisted by qualified, caring Christian personnel.  They all encourage an atmosphere wherein respect and understanding for others is realized.
