An Overview

Curriculum

  • Serving children from pre-kindergarten through middle-school (grades 6-8)
  • Includes all requirements of the State of Washington and employs up to date textbooks and materials
  • Technology is integrated with the content studies of each grade.
  • Enrichment provided through Pre-K - 8 vocal music, 4 - 8 vocal and band, public speaking, and sports programs.
  • Middle school electives include: drama, foreign language, math enrichment and creative arts. Middle school also uses science and computer labs extensively; participates in many leadership roles.
  • Art, music, physical education, technology are taught to every grade throughout every week.
  • Religion is taught daily and integrated throughout the school days through prayer, service projects, and weekly liturgies.
  • Approved by the Archdiocese of Seattle and certified by the State of Washington.
  • Cabrini School is a member in good standing of the National Catholic Education Association (N.C.E.A.), the Washington Federation of Independent Schools, and is accredited by the Northwest Association of Accredited Schools and the Western Catholic Educational Association.

Parental Involvement

  • Essential element in the holistic education program Cabrini School provides
  • Many parents assist teachers and staff during the school day.
  • Almost all parents assist in fundraisers (auction, raffle, Annual Giving Campaign, pizza sales, etc.).
  • Active Parents Club (to which all parents belong) and School Commission (our school's advisory body).

Staff

  • Teachers and principal are always available to parents and encourage communication regarding each child's education progress.
  • All teachers are State certified; several have their master's degree
  • Principal has MA in administration and curriculum, and over thirty years of experience
  • Support staff includes technology, music, physical education, resource center, library, and development.

Other Highlights

  • Before and after school child care program available
  • Small class sizes in the middle-school grades to provide opportunities to grow in learning and leadership
  • Pre-K (4-5 year-olds): AM and PM half-day sessions of 12 - 15 children per session
  • Kindergarten (5-6 year-olds) is a full-day program.
  • Yearly achievement tests scores place Cabrini School students in the top 25% of nation
  • Family-like environment. Older children learn responsibility through mentoring and looking out for younger ones.

Up to date facilities

  • Main building classrooms totally renovated in 2001 providing enhancements to the learning environment, safety and energy conservation upgrades.
  • Science Lab, Computer lab, before and after school care and pre-Kindergarten are housed in facilities constructed in the 1990s.
  • Middle School wing, though built in the 1960s, has been continually upgraded.
  • Church (location for worship and liturgies) built in 1999
